View Pedigree for Cullen Irish Setters
My foundation is based on the Cucuhullain Kennel, which is located in Connecticut. I owe most of what I know to Kate Seymour www.geocities.com/Cucuhullain . The Cullen line starts with Cucuhullain Knight Legend, OA, OJ,, "Amy" as the dam of my first litter, and AM CAN Ch. Captiva Special Delivery as the Sire.
My first champion Irish Setter was bred by Karolynne McAteer, Red Barn Kennels, Ch Red Barn Plum Puddin'oKerra, UD, JH, CGC, aka Bear. Karolynne introduced me to the Irish Setter community and taught me about field work. As it turns out, Bear was a natural hunter. He and his mom, Ch Red Barn Molly Pitcher were among an early group of champion setters to show the hunting community that the Irish Setter could hunt. I was never so amazed to see how Bear finished his championship in 10 shows in a row. Then, we worked our way together through the obedience competitions, to complete a utility title.
Ch Cucuhullain Just Havin Fun (Deenah) was my second Irish Setter Champion. Deenah was notable for her freestyle routine. Believe it or not, Irish Setters can dance as long as the music is energetic and lively.
I am also totally grateful for the mentoring and support from Ramblin Red's AnneMarie Kubacz and her son and my handler Peter Kubacz. If you visit the photo gallery you will see beautiful pictures of Ch Ramblin Red Series Sweeps, CDX - otherwise known as Charlie Brown.
The foundation of the Cullen line is my beloved Amy, Cucuhullain Knight Legend, OA, OJ. She was bred to Am Can Ch Captiva Special Delivery, aka Speedy. Both the Sire and Dam have passed their OFA's. Amy's puppies, Cucuhullain My Little Lucy is OFA Good and Cucuhullain My Lady Lisa is OFA Excellent.
